1 Year Later (not affiliated with DC)
My situation has remained largely unchanged since I last posted. Few minor things.

    I now own a PS3 and no longer own a PS2
I am experimenting with Windows Home Server and a Mac Mini
I took a really awesome picture of Mt. Fuji back in December 2008

Huh? Who knew I was so incredibly boring.

For the past few weeks, I've been working at my new job. First full-time job I've ever had. Good hours, low pay, nice people. I can't really complain. The commute isn't bad, either. Anyway, just thought I'd post this so LJ will stop bugging me about not posting.

    Reboot the game.
Just received my copy of the Reboot video game for the playstation. Yes, you heard me, for the original playstation. I have to say that I'm somewhat disappointed by the game.

    *prepare for mild rant*

The game's cover art depicts the main character with a H.U.D. eyepiece and large blaster type weapon. Both of which are not part of the original television show. They somehow neglect to include Glitch (his keytool) on the cover, which seems perfectly natural seeing as how he always uses Glitch on the show at least once (or so it seems). The gameplay is somewhat poor. The zipboard which provides Bob's locomotion appears to have been added as a novelty, but it is very difficult to control and it makes the purpose of the game very difficult to achieve. Mending tears, which Bob seldom did are very, very hard to do when they emit electrical charges, exert gravity, and require several seconds of keytool contact before they disperse. Strangely enough, since the game is nearly 10 years old, I was not surprised by the graphics but was mostly disappointed by how poorly implemented the zip board control was and how auto-targeting his blaster required being a certain distance to the enemy - no further and no closer.

    Daylight Saving Time
Well, it's been a few days and the old Y2K fears have yet again not come to pass. Yay!

Ahem... I just would like to know what "genius" came up with the thought that because we get up earlier and go to bed earlier, we'll use electricity less? Sure, we'll use lights less in the PM, but in the AM, we'll still need electric lights even more so. If you consider all the money spent in correcting computers before the switch, then I think Techs out there will agree. This whole ordeal was a pain.

On a more peaceful note, I've been told that Chicago, IL apparently has some of the worst postal service in the US. Anyone care to comment on the speed and efficiency?

Errands and Ebay - a week of E's
Many errands were accomplished today. Granted, some of the errands didn't actually accomplish anything, but the intent was there. Heh.

As for eBay; well, I have been buying and bidding a lot lately. That is, it's been a lot for _me_. A pity most of bids and buying were for someone else.

    ^_^

One of the truly nice things I bought was a d-link router. Hopefully everything will work right and I will finally be able to set up static computer ip assignments. Here's hoping.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled transmission...
I've been out of communication for a while by cellphone, but that has been taken care of. Nice, shiny new phone. Yay!

    IE 7
Spent a couple of hours working on restoring computer that was in a bad way. Sadly, the machine was only about a year old, but extraneous applications and bloated software were causing it to run slower than molasses. IE 7 was also installed, and that just amplified the problem. Now, I've not had too many complaints about IE in the past, but IE 7 just looks strange. The configuration is different from past versions and from my brief foray into it, I found that I could not move the address bar where I wanted and the layout of buttons was poor. Plus, on the machine I was fixing, the browser had two homepages set. This bogged the computer down even more than usual. I would think that on a dual core machine, it would run alright, but I personally am in no hurry to migrate from IE 6 and Firefox 1.5.0.9. I finally washed my hands of it and installed Firefox 1.5.0.9 on that one machine. That ran well.

    Having a Wii good time
Last night I had the opportunity to try out a display model of the Wii. Naturally, Zelda: Twilight Princess was on it. Yeah, the Wii does seem nice, but I didn't spend enough time to really get comfortable with it. It might be something nice to mess around with but I find I really don't care that much for the newer version of Zelda. NES all the way. Heh.

    Steady as she goes...
Several hurdles left to overcome in the next week.

Of those several, I have a nifty (sarcasm) subset of 4 that worry me somewhat. Of the 4, I have just recently completed 1. *sigh* 3 more to go. *double sigh*

I am waiting to hear back from Mesmerisz and DBZMerciter2005. Of course, it doesn't help that I mostly fell off the face of the earth the other day, things were somewhat immersive. Oh, let me just say that Resistence: Fall of Man for the PS3 is a very decent title. I might even go so far as to say more than acceptable. ^_^

Luck to all! (whether it's good or bad is up to you...)

    Twilight Zone
Yeah, late. Yeah, stuff to do tommorrow. Yeah, I should be asleep, but eh.

Just saw an old classic Twilight Zone episode. Man ends up killing wife due to a tongue lashing and the fact that everything that happened was exactly as his messed up tv had foretold. Such things make me wonder about free will. If a man saw what was going to happen, could he change his destiny? I'd like to believe so.

    Okami is an amazing game.
If you haven't yet played Okami for the PS2, you're missing out. Never have I seen such a amazing blend of art, music, and myth. The game is so impressive, both in implementation, length and artistic achievement, that I actually intend to buy either a Playstation 2 or Playstation 3 in order to play the game once I buy one for myself. I'm fairly cheap, so it is likely it will be a Playstation 2.

As a side note, I believe this is the first time I've ever publicly posted to my LJ. If anyone actually reads this, I would very much enjoy it if people would post opinions on other PS2 games that would be worth me buying. I actually have a list in the making of games I am considering to purchase in the next few weeks in order to make the most of my PS2. That will probably be posted later. Cheers.
